Like you, I’m a mid life man. I don’t always recognise it and I certainly don’t feel it. I live, work and train in a way that respects my body and harnesses my wisdom while keeping a vital, youthful outlook. I defy the idea of what traditionally some would have defined a 50 year old to be without deluding myself either. For me, it’s about self acceptance, presence and power from within. In 2023 with a ever changing world, challenging the outdated view of a mid life man is not a luxury; it’s a necessity.

Stress and worry are a natural part of life, but they don't have to control you. With the right tools and strategies, you can learn to manage stress and cultivate a calm, confident mindset. For men, we might work with a personal trainer, maybe a business coach, some of us may have worked with a psychotherapist. But I find that this approach is often fragmented and misses the deeper issues we face. My approach is to integrate: mind, emotions and the body and complete a complete system of support, growth and change.

Our mind is where so much happens. Our perspective , beliefs and back story create an identity that defines us, better or worse, we can mature with strength and focus but an unconscious and more familiar approach is to age with loss, in too many areas of life.

I use a pioneering approach to human performance which looks at three distinct areas: mind/psychology, mood/emotions and movement/the body. Each of us needs the right balance in each area in order to flourish but the real impact is integration. You can think of this like each department of business working at its best enabling the whole organisation to excel.

The ‘state’ we go to in stressful conditions dictates our performance, stress levels and health. Changing your automatic response to stress can be liberating.
